Atlantic Captain's Academy also conducts virtual online classes. Contact Captain Greg Metcalf if you would like more information regarding this new medium for your group. A live proctored exam at one of our approved Coast Guard sites is required at the conclusion of the course.

Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessel (OUPV)
The Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels or OUPV class is 56 hours of class room instruction. The course is divided into 4 sections; Navigation General, Chart Plotting, Rules of the Road and Deck General. All materials and testing is included in the cost. Testing will be done in the class room. You will not have to take any tests with the Coast Guard.
100 GT Masters Upgrade
This class is 24 hours of instruction for candidates who either currently hold an OUPV license or have successfully completed the OUPV course and have received their diploma.
We also offer courses for Launch Operator, Assistance Towing, Auxiliary Sailing and License Renewal

An OUPV class will meet every Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:45 PM to 8:45 PM for 9 weeks beginning on September 18, 2023.

A License Renewal class will be conducted on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM for license holders who do not have sufficient sea time to renew their credential. Completion of this one-day course satisfies CG requirements for sea service time.
